OC is in Cox Bazar, Bangladesh, providing aid on behalf of a partner NGO, to refugees fleeing from violence in Rohingya.
Osman Consulting is in Ukhia Upazila, Cox Bazar, representing Baitulmaal and attending the WASH sector coordination meeting. The meeting is set to focus on a new specification for the common hygiene kit, an initiative by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), to cater to the circumstances in the Rohingya camps.
OC’s El-Zafarani has travelled to Bangladesh to understand first-hand the situation on the ground, including areas of overlap and gaps that NGOs can fill with their programmes.
Many of those in the Cox Bazar area are now reliant on humanitarian aid, as a result of being driven out of the Rakhine State after an outbreak violence in 2017. Basic services are under severe strain due to the huge influx of people. Water and sanitation facilities are limited and of poor quality, which has seriously affected many people.
Osman Consulting is currently working on representing the donor organisation that is implementing the project, as well as gathering information to give recommendations for future projects in the area.
